• Hello & Welcome

Think of me as your personal wine consultant!

Whether you’re a novice or true oenophile, if you’ve found my site, a passion for wine is our common denominator.

After years of producing wine festivals, educational tastings and culinary events, I opened Savor Wine Boutique in 2013. As Chief Wine Officer -aka general manager, wine buyer, hostess, cashier and janitor- I created a haven for diverse audiences across metro Atlanta to learn more about wine (no snobbery allowed!), sample local gourmet goods and explore art and culture. It is from each of our customers, visiting winemakers, chefs and artists that I truly learned to savor- to enjoy every moment and live life to the fullest.

It's not just a hashtag for me, #SavorWine is a calling!

Now, I'm out of the shop and on the road! I'm on a mission to diversify the world of wine, connect people through shared food and wine experiences, and expand your palate with fun, educational opportunities. I'm certified by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and completing certifications with the Society of Wine Educators and the Wine Scholar Guild.

    Covid-19 can’t cancel fun forever!

Have a question about wine? Is there a region or variety you'd like me to explore on the blog? Let me know! While you’re here read my latest posts, see what I'm sipping on social, and sign up for the newsletter.

Earth Day (April 22) was the perfect time to reflect on sustainable winemaking. After all, without Mother Earth there would be no wine. The dirt, soil, sun and climate all play a major role in what ends up in your glass.  Good winemakers know that you never really own a vineyard, you merely...

Kyla Cox is an entrepreneur and sales and marketing professional with extensive F&B knowledge and event management experience within the hospitality and retail sectors. She is the founder of Savor Wine Co. and creator of Cork Camp. This avid foodie and wine enthusiast produces a wide array of culinary events ranging from large-scale festivals to intimate dinners. She hosts wine workshops, teaches private educational classes and curates wine tasting pop-ups in restaurants, art galleries, retail stores and venues. With a special interest in the business and politics of wine and a heightened awareness of the intersection of wine and race, she seeks to demystify the wonderful world of wine and aims to make it accessible to all. Kyla believes good wine doesn’t have to be expensive and wine education should be presented in a fun, unpretentious environment.

She has achieved Level 2 certification (with Merit Honors) by the Wine & Spirits Educational Trust and Napa Valley Wine Academy and is continuing her studies with the Society of Wine Educators. Kyla specializes in educational wine-themed events for corporations, small businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals. As your personal wine consultant, she creates an exciting wine list and her programs are tailored to your unique needs and conducted in your home, office or selected venue. You can expect greater wine appreciation and sharpened skills after attending her tasting classes and events.

For more than two decades she has designed and managed high-profile special events and marketing campaigns for some of the nation’s leading companies and brands throughout her career including Macy’s, Taste of Atlanta, and the Atlanta Jazz Festival. However, she’s most renowned for creating and producing the Buckhead Wine Festival, Chefs in the City and the Organic Wine & Food Fair. Savor Wine Boutique, her popular retail store and tasting room, played host to chefs, artists and winemakers from around the world during its stint in east Atlanta. Most recently, she planned innovative meetings, dinners, weddings, galas, fundraisers and events from 250-2500 guests on a weekly basis in Atlanta’s largest ballroom.

Reading, traveling and spending time with her husband and two precocious pups is where you'll find her in her spare time. Kyla favors small-batch wines from family owned vineyards where the quality and attention to detail shine. What’s her go-to grape? Well, that’s like asking a Mother to pick her favorite child! Although she loves sampling obscure varietals from around the world and craves quirky pét-nat, her latest obsession is anything from South America and she never turns down a glass of Carmenere from Chile or Bonarda from Argentina.
